I've been to Europe a few times before, but it's always been the kind of trip where you try to see 5 countries in 7 days. This time I'm staying for two weeks in one city which should make for a very different experience.
As a newly minted Renaissance Art scholar, I'm planning to spend a lot of time in the museums (Ginger - I'm sorry I wasn't more interested in the art when you and I were here in college). But I think just as much time will be spent in the local cafes eating pizza and gelato. There might be a side trip to Pisa (did you know that the first significant male and female nude statues since antiquity are here?) and probably a few days in Rome at the end of the trip.
It should be a beautiful, leisurely adventure.
