Todd and I arrived in Rome on Friday night. He came in from Prague where he was attending the International Sports Economist Conference (they really have that?) and I had the last flight out of Paris to Rome on Alitalia.
Turns out I cut it a little close on my arrival. My flight got in at 10:30 pm but I had to wait about 40 minutes for my bag to get off the plane. The last train to the city leaves the Rome airport at 11:30 pm and, in true Italian efficiency, they start locking down the airport at 11:00! Basically I was running around the airport trying to find the only open doors and then running to the train terminal to catch the last train to the city. I made the train but just barely. I hope the rest of the trip is a little more uneventful.
On Saturday we checked into our apartment off the Piazza Navono. I think I'm going to like it here.Thank you Todd for finding us a great place to stay.

Dear Traveling Blonde:
ReplyDeleteI had some trouble getting here myself. Did I mention that Andy ran out of gas while taking me to the airport? It's all worth it...
