Orientation

At the Trevi Fountain

Our first full day in Rome was just getting orientated to our neighborhood. We're staying near the Pizza Navona which has about a hundred little tavernas and osterias in a two block radius. It's also really close to the Pantheon (my favorite Pagan/Catholic church) and not that far from the Spanish Steps.

We spent the day fountain-hopping from piazza to piazza. We packed our lunch and had sandwiches on the steps on the Pantheon. The evening was spent strolling down the Via del Corso with a much needed stop for prosecco and snacks at a little cafe.

Dinner was at a Rick Steve's recommended local taverna that served fresh fried cod. Who knew fish and chips (well at least the fish part) was a local Italian favorite?
