Burmese Days

Today we boarded the ship for a two day cruise up the Ayeyarwady River on the way to Mandalay. We stopped at a little village and got to meet the village people (there was a carpenter, but no policeman or Indian). They had nice little palm leaf huts, and a few brick buildings, built with their own hand made bricks.

They had a little one room school house with about 50 kids from about 4 years old to 12. We taught them a couple songs, I'm a Little Tea Pot, and Itsy Bitsy Spider. We had them sing along with us with all the arm motions and everything. We should have taught them YMCA!

There was a cute baby Burmese girl that kept smiling at me. Her dad let me hold her for a minute, she was darling. A fellow passenger got a picture, but on his camera, so I can't upload it until I get back. But, here's a picture of our sunset from our cruise ship this evening.
