We did it!

We jumped through all the hoops! We had to get yesterday's embassy document legalized this morning, which ended up being the most difficult step in this process. The instructions were a little outdated, we forgot that in Europe the second floor is called the first floor, and we were short one tax stamp...but we got it done! Yay! We're really going to married, both civilly and religiously, in Rome!

After we got that done went went to the Rectory to give our priest all the completed documents. It was so nice to finally meet him after exchanging so many emails over the last several months. He's the pastor of the American church here. He's lived here for 15 years, but is originally from Los Angeles.  He took us over to see the church. We were originally getting married at Santa Susanna, but in July the ceiling collapsed in that church, so we are now at a different church.  Santa Susanna was built in the 1500's I believe, with murals on all the walls. This new church is only 100 or so years old, and looks medieval, but que sera, sera.

Next we caught the train. It was the easiest thing we did all day! The train was great, it got us to Naples in less than an hour! There we met the shuttle to take us to Positano.

Positano, from our hotel.
