Home!

We're going home! We grew up in Saudi Arabia.  It was home from 1980-2000. I'm just giddy.  For the past several days all of my dreams have been set in my childhood neighborhood, elementary school, or jr. high.

It's a difficult country to visit because they don't have tourist visas.  You have to be sponsored by a company to enter the Kingdom, or be a Muslim traveling to Mecca for Haj.  Saudi Aramco, the company our parents worked for for 20 years is having a reunion trip and that's how we got visas. Funny enough we started working on our Saudi visas when we were in Sri Lanka last June (see posts from June 2014).  I remember both of us sitting in the open air lobby of our hotel and uploading a picture of our passport to the reunion website!

A special treat for us Traveling Blondes on this trip is our dad is traveling with us.  I don't think he's been on a plane since he retired 15 years ago. I had to educate him about the dos and don't for TSA!
