This was our first time to Castaway Cay and we were anxious to get on the island to check it out.
We started the day with a 5k race around the island. It was muggy, but we're used to that. The route goes along an old airstrip and a loop through the palm trees. They had a few picture ops, as you would expect from Disney, along the way.
We both got a medal at the finish line and the had the best post race party ever: a day on the beach in the Bahamas!
It was a really windy day which made the surf conditions rough, but it didn't rain and the cloud cover kept it from getting overly hot. Our parasailing and stingray feeding excursions were canceled though.

We made it out on the Aqua tricycle. We got about 10' from shore and then peddled and peddled for about 30 mins, but stayed in place, so we let the current take us quickly back to shore.
The kids played I. The water all day, jumped off the many slides, and made lots of sand castles.
Larry and I rode bikes around the island. There's a lookout area at one end, and the other end of the trail is past the adult beach.
We also had fun snorkeling. The snorkeling lagoon has 4 sunken sites to explore: a Minnie statue and treasure chest, a Mickey statue, an old fishing boat, and a large sail boat hull. There are a few other things scattered about to attract some fish. It was nicely done.
