There are fountains and statues of mythical creatures at every turn, like these flying elephant dragons. We saw wings on things all over the city.
Copenhagen is the home of Hans Christian Anderson. He wrote The Ugly Duckling, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Little Mermaid, and The Snow Queen. This city is very proud of him and you're reminded of his fanciful tails throughout the city with statues of him, and roads named after him.
If you really want to remember him you only need to visit the most pictured location in Copenhagen: the Little Mermaid statue.
Even the Crown Jewels, on display at a castle with a moat, look like they are straight out of a storybook.
