The Wonderful World of Tivoli

We got to Copenhagen today. Our flight was long and sleepless. When we arrived in Copenhagen the baggage handlers were on strike. We had to wait at the airport for three hour to get our bags!  Once we got to our hotel all we wanted to do was sleep.

By about 5pm we were ready to going again. For an easy and fun first day we decided to enjoy Tivoli. It is the amusement park that inspired Walt Disney to create Disney World and Epcot decades ago. It does feel Disney-ish. It has several world location inspired facades and restaurants, beautiful gardens,  and lots of rides interspersed throughout.

We stopped for dinner and grabbed a table outside where we could enjoy the weather and the peacocks roaming around.

Then it was time for rides. I got so lucky; as I was at the kiosk trying to figure out how many tickets to buy a couple came up to me and offered us their extra all day passes! What luck! The lines moved quickly, and we even road the Matterhorn ride twice!
