Sydney!

Sydney is wonderful. Cairns is just another tourist city; a stop on the way to the reef. But, Sydney has character and charm. I wish I had a few more days here.

This morning I walked around The Rocks Market, so different from Venice Beach! Then I climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was a fun adventure and offered magnificent views of the harbor and city. After that I toured the Opera House, which I learned revolutionized engineering. I finished the day with dinner at an Italian Restaurant. I passed up the German restaurant even though they had a band playing the Beer Barrel Polka in Lederhosen and all!

Tomorrow it is back home. It has been a good trip. If I had to sum it up in one word it would be "view." The trip was all about the view, from the view of the marine life under water while scuba diving, to the view of the rainforest from the train and skyrail in Kuranda, to the view of Sydney Harbour from the top of the bridge or the opera house. It has been a lovely trip.
