Seville, Spain

We docked in Cadiz today but decided to take the bus into Saville on the recommendation of Traveling Blond 1 who was here last month. I'm so glad we did; it was beautiful. The Moorish influence every where reminded me of growing up in Saudi Arabia.

Our first stop was the Palace of Alkazar.

Behind the palace is an extensive garden that includes a labyrinth.

Across from Alcazar is the cathedral; another wonderful mix of Islamic-Christian art.

From there we went to the Plaza Espana which is modeled after Venice.

The tiles on all the buildings are magnificent. Even the balustrades are tiled.

Our last stop was the Gold Tower.

While we waited for our bus back to the ship we sat at a corner cafe. Mom had Sangria, I had a frozen mojito, and Coral had and ice cream!

Back at the ship we went to, "So You Think You Know Your Family." The first time we saw the show was 2 years ago when Larry and I and the 3 kids were on the Disney Fantasy in the Caribbean. We weren't selected as contestants that time but we stuck around to watch. How it works is the child has to guess how the parent would answer 3 questions, and the parent has to guess how the child would answers 3 questions. Last year we tried to get selected as contestants, but weren't. This year we decided to wear our tieras hoping it would help us get selected, and it worked! We were selected, we played the game, and we won!! We even got a winner's medal.

  1. So glad you made it to the Alcazar! I knew you would love it. Todd and I missed Plaza Espana. I guess we have to go back!
