Our first house in main camp - #1010 - we thought had been torn down. It was an older house but in an awesome location and Aramco said they were going to demolish it to make way for a new building. We were completely shocked when we turned the corner from the reunion house to see that it was still there 20 years later. It's now an administration office for the library.
The staff there was so welcoming as we walked in and asked if we could look around. I heard them laughing as they overheard us walking around and saying things like "I probably watched Star Wars 100 times in that room" and "remimber - that's where we used to roller skate around the patio". One of the staffers said there was still a family living in the house because she felt like the team there was like a family.

We stopped at our second house on Cedar Street later that afternoon to get some pictures of ourselves in the front and as a polite gesture we knocked on the front door just in case someone was home and saw strangers in the front yard.
Well, Dale Jones, who currently lives there, welcomed us into her home without a second thought. She invited us to wander through the entire house and even see our old bedrooms. We spent about 20 minutes chatting with her about the quirks of the house and our time in Arabia. It was such a nice gesture and one that meant so much to us as we relived some childhood memories.

I can't imagine another place where
complete strangers would be welcomed in to someone's home so openly. The Aramco community and their hospitality to those that have shared experiences unlike anything else.
Many moons have passed since you baby-sat for us at 1010 Brandie .... Glad you're back in the area to re-live those days of a bye-gone era. I've enjoyed the TB1/2 blog series, and happy you're able to rely all this info for those of us who decided not to go to KSA for the reunion. Thank you ALL
